Many Firsts This Week!

Brinley's first hair accessory!  She's loving it!

A little unsure...

This isn't exactly the "first" bedtime story (we used to read to Brinley
when she was in my tummy...); but this is one of the first times we've
read to her right before she officially goes to sleep in her bassinet.
I like to call this look her "peapod."

This is Brinley's first bath.  She LOVED it--at least
she didn't cry at all.  I know this is kind of cheezy,
but my sister gave this terry-cloth "bath cover-up" to me
and I couldn't resist wearing it for Brinley's first bath.

Washing her hair

Here she is just really enjoying the whole experience!

My FAVORITE towel that Brinley has.  Here she is getting dried off
and cozy in her giraffe towel.

Brinley's ready for her first walk.  She was REALLY bundled up (and cute!).

Burgandy and my mom decided to join us
Here is Brinley in her "posh pram" (a.k.a. awesome stroller thanks to Oma and Opa)!

The Cuteness Continues

Brinley continues to be more cute and more precious by the minute. I have enjoyed having a few days off work to spend at home with my two favorite girls Emily and Brinley.

Our new and improved family of three!  When we got home from the hospital we had a package in the mail from Meredith Sheaffer with this wall art.  It was the perfect gift.  It works great in our nursery!
Brinley lounges after a tasty breakfast.

Emily's socks match Brinley's footies!

We are determined to raise our daughter right.  That means raise her to be a dog lover!

The three of us and our matching hospital bracelets

Babies are small. I'm serious, they are tiny! I am about 28 times bigger than she is.

Brinley Mae Turns Zero, Episode 4

The theme of this post is: Coming home from the hospital!
We were so excited to bring her home and begin our new lives as a family.

Brinley got all situated in her car seat before we left the hospital room.

Mom and Daughter climb into the back seat for the ride home.

Buckled up and ready to go. Do you see Brinley in the mirror?

Brinley got her first dose of sunlight on the ride home.  It was quite a contrast to what she is used to in Mom's tummy.

Dad giving Brinley the official house tour.

Brinley Mae Turns Zero, Episode 3

In this installment, we have more shots of Brinley, visitors come and then more cuteness.

Burrito Brinley

Mimi and Dow (Emily's Parents) come to visit.
I can't tell who is more protective Emily or Dow.

Grandchild number three is every bit as special as the first.

Mimi holding Brinley for the first time.

Our friends Emily, Dave and Baby Solomon also came to visit.
Two Emilys, one Brinley

I promised more cuteness so here it is...

Another Baby Brinley Burrito

All dressed up for her in-hospital photo shoot

And here is a little teaser for the next post...
Watch for the next post where Brinley goes home from the hospital!

Brinley Mae turns Zero, Episode 2

Brinley arrived at 9:24 in the evening and her and her mom were as healthy as can be. She was born 7 lb 11 oz.  (7-11 maybe a future career path?) and 20 inches tall.

It was a big day, so after her screams of shock when she entered the world she was exhausted and slept (like a baby).
Mom and Brinley enjoy some girly-girl bonding time.
The Flatau Family and our fantastic nurse Diane Alexander.  Diane is without a doubt the best nurse on the planet.  If some of you reading this are nurses, I'm sure you are great and I don't mean to put you down but Diane is better.

Dad and Daughter

Welcome to the world Brinley!

Brinley Mae Turns Zero, Episode 1

Brinley Mae Flatau turned zero on her first Birthday, Thursday Jan 20th 2011.  It will take a couple of installments to tell the whole story this is the first...

We got one last photo of pregnant Emily before we left for the hospital (5:00 am).  It won't be long now...

Emily and Karl getting settled at the hospital.

Emily and our wonderful Doula! If anyone is looking for a doula Lori Wade is the best!

Emily, her usual smiley self can you believe she's in labor?

Tune in next time as the saga continues...

Baby Update

Not much new to report.  Still in labor. Taking it one step at a time.

At the Hospital!

We are at the hospital! No baby yet (probably not for a while).  But it will be sometime today!   We will try to keep folks up-to-date when possible.

It is difficult for us to get on Facebook from the Hospital's network so check here for the latest info!

Love,
Emily, Karl & Sweetness
